FORAY defines the form of tamper-evident transaction evidence: a published grammar for the record, a published envelope for anchoring it, and published rules for verifying it. The name derives from "4A" — the four components every transaction decomposes into:
- Arrangements — contracts, terms, and counterparty agreements
- Accruals — the economic obligations that arise: formulas, calculated amounts
- Anticipations — expected future flows: schedules, conditions
- Actions — what actually settled: amounts, dates, status
Structuring transactions this way enables cryptographic verification without exposing proprietary business logic or competitive information: only fingerprints reach the chain; the record stays with its owner.
History
Where FORAY came from
FORAY's first blockchain implementation was built for a public real-time-data challenge that served as its initial proving ground on Kaspa. That work validated the anchoring design. FORAY has since anchored verified transactions on Kaspa mainnet — production anchoring pipeline live since 2026-07-14 — and operates today as an open protocol standard: DUNIN7 maintains the specification, validation rules, and reference implementations; the systems where transactions originate implement it; auditors, regulators, and AI-governance platforms consume it.
Where FORAY applies
Sectors that have to prove their records
Defense contractors
DCAA compliance, cost accounting, labor tracking, and contract management with tamper-evident records.
Financial services
SOX and Basel III regimes, derivative valuations, complex multi-party transactions.
Manufacturing & supply chain
Provenance, work orders, inventory movements, supplier payments.
Energy
Power purchase agreements, renewable energy credits, meter-based settlement calculations.
And beyond enterprise audit: as software agents begin making consequential commitments, FORAY provides the evidence layer for agent governance — alongside Stele (identity) and GRANTHA (containment) in the wider DUNIN7 suite.

How this work is made
This project uses AI-assisted development. Documentation, code examples, and demonstration materials have been created with assistance from Claude (Anthropic). All outputs have been reviewed and validated by the project author.
The FORAY Protocol concept, architecture decisions, and business strategy are the original work of DUNIN7.
